IV IG

She has been transferred to the renal ICU today. Her condition has stabilized but still under close monitoring. Now they can concentrate the treatment on her kidney and SLE problems.

This is the IV IG which stand for Intravenous Immune Globulin which has to be given to her on the first day in the renal ICU. It would be given twice a day for three consecutive days, depending on how her body react to it. IV globulin is used to stregthen the body's immune system. It is also used to increase the plateletes in patient with blood disorder. It is made from healthy human blood that has high level of antibodies to fight infections. The drug caused RM4,600.00 for 6 bottles. Damn!
