Her Last Masterpiece
Wallahu A'lam.
Doa buat Adinda Kami - Airyz Hanum Bt. Hj. Ahmad
Assalamu'alaikum Wbt..
Hadiakan jutaan do'a dan alFatihah buat roh Anum agar arwah sentiasa tenang bersama2 Allah di alam baqa'.
Anum,

The Call
Doctor kat Renal ICU call semalam, nak jumpa kitorang smua kat ICU. Macam nak luruh jantung ni bila doktor explain keadaan dia masa tu. Keadaan Hanum semakin teruk dan doktor cakap keadaan dia semakin kritikal. Her blood pressure dropped rapidly, her breathing rate decrease. Masya Allah, gelap rasanye dunia aku bila dengar kata-kata doktor tu.
Everyone gathered by her bed watching in tears this young angel fighting for her life. Now we realized that our little sister won't be with us much longer.
Anum,
Moga Allah bersama Anum selalu... Amin.

Where are the plateles!
A big happening as the Permatang Pauh election is no longer a preffered issue when your loved ones' condition has swayed from recovery condition back to critical. She experienced a fit yesterday morning due to her low platelet count. Twice to be exact. The doctor suspected that the sepsis has spread to her brain and ordered a CT Scan. The result has revealed that there has been bleeding in her brain, the fact that we were all praying wouldn't happen. As for now, the doctor is giving her sedation for at least 48 hours to help her body ease a bit and to prevent her from any convulsion to protect her brain. This is because everytime she experience a fit, it will restrict the flow of oxygen to the brain. A prolong condition as such can cause shrinking to the brain.
On another note, the IV IG which was suppose to give her antibodies and also increase her plateletes level didn't turn out to be the solution for her. Her plateles count still didn't show any signs or increasing, remaining at 9,000. Whereas a normal person should be around 150,000 - 450,000 platelets per microliter (x 10–6/Liter) of blood! Now the doctor are trying to give her platelets product to increase the plateles in her blood. Hopefully this would be the solution for her as the doctors in the renal ICU tried the best they can to see her come back to recovery.
We recite Yaasin before we went to bed last night praying that Allah gives her strength and courage to fight the disease. Moga Allah sembuhkan beliau, Amin.

Sepsis is still pretty much around ...
Updates : The lung infection is still there. So the doctor couldn't take off the ventilator system that has been assisting her breathing as yet. Her breathing was still not in the spontaneous breathing pattern so she has still to be hooked to the ventilatory system. Her platelet count has also decreases in fact, showing the single digit and has not reach the safe zone. The doctor asked us to pray that her blood count will increase with the help of IV IG that has been given twice daily for the three first days so that it won't result to other complications. She is given antibiotics to get rid of the sepsis and they expect the infection to clear within another 3 to 4 days. The dialysis is also still on to keep her blood clean as to make way for her kidneys which has malfunctioned a bit after the sudden flare atack.
p/s : Sepsis is the body's response to infection. Normally, the body's own defense system fights infection, but in severe sepsis, the body's normal reaction goes into overdrive, setting off a cascade of events that can lead to widespread inflammation and blood clotting in tiny vessels throughout the body.

IV IG
She has been transferred to the renal ICU today. Her condition has stabilized but still under close monitoring. Now they can concentrate the treatment on her kidney and SLE problems.
This is the IV IG which stand for Intravenous Immune Globulin which has to be given to her on the first day in the renal ICU. It would be given twice a day for three consecutive days, depending on how her body react to it. IV globulin is used to stregthen the body's immune system. It is also used to increase the plateletes in patient with blood disorder. It is made from healthy human blood that has high level of antibodies to fight infections. The drug caused RM4,600.00 for 6 bottles. Damn!

Doctor's updates
The appointment with the kidney specialist, Dr. Halim when fine yesterday. I kinda drove the roads of KL like a mad man trying to make it to the hospital before the clock tick 4.30pm. Thank god, I made it on time. Everyone was in the state of relief as Dr. Halim ensure that progress is good although her condition is very sick. Good news is her brain was not infected. He stress on the fact that her life needs to be saved first before her kidney or anything else pertaining to her initial condition. They will continue giving her the breathing aid using the ventilator to ease her a bit since her blood pressure and breathing would rapidly increase in times when she tried to gain her consciousness. There are some infection in her lungs though which has to be treated before they could transfer her to the kidney ward and provide her treatment specifically for her kidney and SLE disease. She is expected to wake up in a day or two and soon after she does, they will take off the ventilator and transfer her to ward. There's some possibilities that she might be having permanent dialysis in future if she survived this but he didn't want to comment further on that because things is still in the early stage to confirm on that.
Miracle was starting to take place that evening at 6.30pm when she slowly starts to open her eyes though she was still very weak. A progress that brings tears to our eyes. The doctor was expecting her to do so by tomorrow but the fighter in her makes her try to beat the odds by responsing a day earlier. May Allah give her the strength and courage to face her disease as we all would give her all the support that she wanted. Amin.

Keeping our fingers crosed and praying hard
She still hasn't wake up from her coma. The doctor had stopped the dialysis together with the anesthethic drug to see her response and hopefully would slowly gain her consciousness. This wait seems like forever as we wait for her to wake up from her deep sleep. The doctor in charge told us that if she wake up then there's a good chance that her disease can still be controlled. If not, there's a risk that the infection had spread to her brain, causing other complications. A fact that we all are terified of. We made up an appointment with the specialist who is accessing her this evening at 4. Hopefully she will regain her conciousnes and bring relief to our heart... Amin

Ya Allah, selamatkanlah beliau...
One of the dearest in our family is now fighting for her life in ICU, at the young age of 20.
It is somehow devastating that all results obtained from the doctor doesn't look too promising except of a stable blood pressure. The rest of the results seems frustrating. Hence, we all have faith in her, despite fearing the worst...
It's a sad and heart-crushing moment to see her in such state,...
though we know that she will fight till the very end; knowing what a fighter she is in and out...
and our prayers would always be there with her...
Ya Allah selamatkanlah beliau...
Amin.

To My Wife on Her Birthday
Today is my wife's birthday. I can tell you that I have a great wife. Well, how many of you guys out there can say that your wife hates shopping and loves football for crying out loud? I can! I won’t say my wife is perfect, because she’s not—neither am I. Of course, we’re all human—but I will say that she’s perfect for me.
So, to my wife, Yusniza Honey on your birthday:
As a token of appreciation on your birthday for your love, your loyalty, and your support, I want to publicly tell you: Thank You.
Thank you for being who you are, and thank you for sharing these last 5 years with me. Thank you for your tireless efforts on my behalf and on the behalf of our two kids, Danish and little Iman. Thank you for being a godly woman. Thank you for loving Allah and, most especially, for loving me. After the last five years, I can’t wait for the next fifty years, or however long Allah blesses me to be with you.
Happy Bithday, sweetheart!
Love,
Abang

Working Four Days A Week!
I was going through my inbox at gmail last week and came across an email about Utah state jobs. It occurs that they are moving to a 4 day work week for many state workers to save money on energy costs. By shutting down the buildings and productions on Friday, they can reduce the costs by 1/5th but still be just as effective.
Well, it really isn’t a joke. I’ve read a great deal about studies being done supporting this idea. It obviously wouldn’t work for all jobs, some industries and some positions require working, and working in person at least 5 days a week. But for those industries and positions in which it could work, the savings in gas and in electric and heat or aircond if the entire place could close down would be tremendous in RM for the company and not to forget, our ecology.
On the other hand, working a four-day week is much harder if you run a service-based company. For instance, design companies will have to really work hard to keep a four-day week, simply because clients will expect you to be in the office five days a week.
The Benefits?
Cut Back On Gas By 1/5th
I would save money on gas and have less drive time every week. Considering my mileage is like 80-90km a day from Bangi to PJ, I'll be saving damn, precious fuel! This would make my job so much easier to do.
3 Day Weekends
From then on, every weekend would be a 3 day weekend. That would be awesome! I could take that many more road trips with Honey, Danish & Iman without having to use up our vacation time. If I wanted to take a longer vacation, I could request Monday off and have 4 days to travel. Haha, not bad!
Same Hours, Same Pay
Since I would move from working 8 hours a day (okay it is really like 5 or even 2 for crying out loud - considering my current job!), to a 10 hour a day, I would still get my 40 hours in every week. So my benefits and pay would not change one bit.
Ahhh, perfect! Wait till the bosses hear this!
p/s : Today is my brother-in-law Kamal's birthday. Happy birthday Bro! 08-08-08 Nice eh?
